on the color combination, and age and gender of your little one, a little color interpretation might be in order, but that is easy enough to accomplish.

Let’s take a look at the hot summer color combination that Erika reported on last week. These are fresh pastels in coral, aqua, baby blue, and yellow and can be perfectly adapted for a youngster’s room. Erika’s color choices were Wild Watermelon, Spring Stream and Ultra Pure White- a summer inspired combination that feels bright and warm.

To kid style this color combination, I will apply what I know of children’s and adult’s color preferences. Generally kids like vivid colors that give them energy and match their favorite toys. Adults tend to prefer calming, neutral colors that coordinate with other décor elements. To make both parties happy, and the room coordinated and livable, the adults pick the wall colors, and kids select the accents. The furnishings and trim are kept a neutral white, to create balance between the color selections.

The wall color in our nursery is Spring Stream. It is a strong aqua but not overwhelming. Wild Watermelon has been brightened to Youthful Coral for some added kiddie-loving vivacity. I also included a bright blue and yellow accent to provide options for gender designations.

The result is a bright and cheery space that you and your little one will adore!

Colorfully yours,

Quinn
