Color of the Month: Cosmetic Neutrals

At the moment, cosmetic brands are making a play to the gold and bronze side of the palette, and designers in other industries are inspired by its warmth. If you happen to be browsing in clothing stores for the new fall fashions right now (eek! Is it really August already?), a relaxed line up of golden buff, tawny beige and rosy brown awaits. In home decor shops, you will see unfinished wood and raw leather mix with misty gray and tactile whites.

When different materials share the same color, an interesting effect emerges. Here a buff-gold hue on walls, floor and ceiling creates a soft tone on tone harmony.
