Ask Erika: Elaine

Colorfully, Behr reader Elaine asked us about coordinating neutral colors for her home. Read Erika’s advice below!

 Hi Erika,

I need your help. I’m looking for neutral gray as an accent color and want to bring warmth to the dining room, kitchen and foyer. The rooms have basic furniture – leather medium gray, navy rockers, earth tones,  greens, golden and browns…and dark wood brown floors.

Your suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi Elaine,
If you are looking for a good neutral background to coordinate with the gray, greens and browns already in your furniture and flooring, I would suggest either a light gray or a medium warm taupe. Take a look at these two hues and let me know what you think: Classic Silver PPU18-11 or Perfect Taupe PPU18-13.

Colorfully yours,

Thank you so very much for your quick response. I was pleasantly surprised that you gave me excellent suggestions! I wasn’t looking in that direction but love the perfect taupe. Again, thank you for taking the time.
