2015 Color Trends
by Quinn Larson
The time has finally come for the release of our 2015 color trends!
Our goal this year- to show how color use can be balanced through an intermixing of different tones, values and intensities. We’ve taken the color palettes from each of the four design themes and used them interchangeably across the rooms and styles.
Deep Dreams: The dark palette
The vividness of Essential Teal is grounded with a dark chocolate, Heritage Oak, found in the furnishings and flooring.
In this version of the bedroom we’ve accented, Your Majesty, with pops of color from the Social Brights palette.
Gray can handle just about any pairing of color- from subtle neutrals to dramatic brights.
Frosted Pastels: The light palette
An accent of citrus yellow, Plastic Lime keeps a sugary pink like Secret Blush, from feeling too sweet.
Cool and calming, Elusive Blue, creates an oasis of relaxation and repose.
Balance the neutrality of gray with subtle color accent Mulberry Wine.
A palette for true lovers of colors- pastels mix with neutrals and brights in this kaleidoscopic combination.
Social Brights: The bright palette
The clean lines and streamlined style of Modern design is especially supportive of bright color use.
Color can be displayed subtly by painting furnishing, or boldly with a brilliant accent wall.
When paired with striking color counterparts, pastels can act as neutrals- balancing intensity with softness.
Nuanced Neutrals: The neutral palette
To keep a neutral scheme from appearing flat add accents in bright colors.
Don’t forget your ceiling! Mocha Foam, found on the ceiling, is the balancing color for Snap Pea Green and the weathered wall in Blue Clay.
From the sweet charm of pastels, to the comfortable ambiance of neutral tones, to the majestic deep and bright tones, the 2015 trend collection captures the balance needed to create inviting, inspiring and dramatically transformed rooms.
